Taking pride in musical gala
. A NEW musical event could be a fixture on the calendar if a project by Woking Lions gets under way.
The Lions want to hold a Music Gala Bonanza and is applying for £2,000 to help finance the project.
It wants to invite schools, scouts, guides and ethnic groups to perform a concert evening at a variety of venues.
The money generated from the event would then be put towards charities supported by the club.
Brian White, a member of the Lions, said: “The event will encourage performing in public, team-building, sponsorship by local companies and performers engaging and promoting their presence within the community.” First printed in:
