Woking is the poorest performing area in Surrey when it comes to literacy levels and this campaign aims to help reset that balance. |

We’re offering youngsters from five primary schools struggling to get literacy up to required standards the chance to win prizes by telling us about the books they love and why. Up for grabs are books, book tokens and the chance to visit a museum dedicated to the fantastic worlds created by author Roald Dahl later this year. We will feature and encourage a range of initiatives all geared up to get the community involved and help children Get Reading.
The campaign coincides with the National Year of Reading 2008 and we have teamed up with the experts from literacy charity the Sheerwater and Maybury Partnership. |
