MORE than £1,200 was raised for Leukaemia Research in a raffle held at a football match on Easter Monday.

Supporters at the Woking game against Salisbury City donated to an appeal set up by Alan and Tricia Duffy after they discovered their 10-year-old daughter, Caiti, was suffering from a rare type of childhood cancer.

The Duffy family, from the Kingfield area of Woking, will also be riding in the the town's Bikeathon in May to help collect more funds for Leukaemia Research and raise awareness about the disease.

Prizes on offer on Monday included a football signed by Woking players, hairdresser vouchers, champagne from Waitrose and a meal voucher for The Garibaldi pub in Knaphill.

A number of prizes are still unclaimed though and will be listed on the football club’s website.

Mrs Duffy said: "The raffle went fabulously well. We are now planning a sponsored head shave, both my husband and I, in April or May.

"It will raise money for a charity called Little Princesses, which funds wigs for children who have lost their hair through illness."

Anyone who would like to help Caiti’s appeal can contact the family on duffy@penlan.demon.co.uk.
