Another shortlist for town’s gallery

The Lightbox

The Lightbox

THE award-winning Lightbox is in the running for yet another prize.

Already the recipient of a Civic Trust Award and among the final four in line for the Art Fund Prize, the Woking gallery and museum has now been shortlisted for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) South-East Awards.

The £7 million showpiece project is one of 15 to make it through to the last round and is named in the community benefit category.

Trevor Hines, of RICS South, said: “We always have a very high standard of entry, which makes the judging very hard. The south-east shortlist represents the very best of projects across the regions.

“The judges are looking at how built environment professionals are using their skills to develop, regenerate and conserve the world we live in, as well as verification of their commitment to sustainability.”

The awards ceremony takes place on May 22 at Oxford Castle, international winner of the RICS awards in 2007.
